kev, dont worry about it with so many good anglers on hand with plenty of advice im sure you (and me)wont blank and learn a lot more about the art of canal fishing,i get more satisfaction from catching on the cut which requies a bit more finesse and a lot more thought than your average commercial. ps.im not knocking commercials,i can blank on them to

Phoned Johnos for Joey Farrells number 07764926643,I was told that the Liverpool card werent out yet even though its May,tried Taskers and Rays and they havent got any,so if you fish and get asked for a card tell them theirs non in any shops. A tip for anybody the canal is fishing well the best baits are pellet ,paste and cat meat youll catch load of carp and barbel.

Yes Alan, I asked the Taskers people before, he told me just go and fish there, nobody actually check there. Using pellet, paster and cat meat there... you want me to blank Alan?!

punch and caster/hemp, if we fish the match there thats what il be using, as there are no cards printed yet, lets fish the old roan stretch, easy to get to if you have no transport( ie the train station is right next to it) and easy to find
if you want il phone joey farrel and book a stretch proper like im not worried either way

To be honest, not fished a bit of cut in years but me and tel will vote for it,memories Not fished the punch for years, trent and mersey at middlewich for dog roach Actually more looking forward to fishing a nice bit of canal than a commercial even though it would have been a first time for us at bannisters. Right refresh my memory all you scousers(never mind somebody has to be ),start has you mean to go on the old roan, not fished that stretch but know magull from years ago.Is the old roan the pub just off switch island heading towards the retail parks at aintree and b & q at the lights where there is a right turn with a low bridge that us truckers cant get under. If so where do we park? Have to dig out the caster hooks. 24,try a 26,mind you even with my glasses on i couldnt tie a 26 again www.fc-utd.co.uk that should put the cat among the pigeons

Next question ,how wide is it,wag or long pole, much prefer the wag.
|
|
|
Post by alan76 on May 27, 2006 8:16:59 GMT
Its not that wide mate ,you only need about 11mtrs of pole to hit the rushs on the back shelf and a few over hanging trees, its not a bad looking stretch to be honest, plenty of features to fish to and its not that busy with bikes etc. Your direction are spot on mate, you can park in the pub or the legion car park next to the railway bridge, walk up the canal bridge and theres steps down to the towpath.

Thanks for the info Alan, then I think I'll stick to my "6M out only fishing style" becasue my pole is only 8M long anyway...
