we were planning on the alex this afternoon but it was choker block right along it,(apparently a club match from blackpool so much for port security ) and needing a pass/insurance to fish it) so we quickly decided on a bit of a detour down the road first half hour seen plenty of bites with a few codling and a decent whiting coming in, nothing big but it was good to be catching cod in the sun, as it neared high and the flow diminished so did the bites, out went big squid and mackeral flapper baits hoping for a conger, but to no avail  , little dab rigs were chucked out for a bit but the baits were stripped bare in minutes  as the ebb started so did more bites so back went the pulley rigs loaded with worm( all we could get was frozen  ) and wrapped in squid to try and keep the crabs off it, lol added a dab to the species list as i pulled in another codling  by this time it was getting dark, neither of us had a light and we were runing out of bait, so we had to call it a day  roll on the winter when the bigger fish will be in the river lol looking gay  these boats come in close sometimes
