No problem Bri.
Easiest way is to come through Crosby, and take the by-pass to Southport, at the end of the by-pass (just passed Woodvale airfield), turn left at the traffic lights onto the cost road.
You stay on this road passing Pontins, the fair, under the pier and passed the marine lake and then passed some sand works (I know sand works sounds a Little silly!) At this point you have basically by-passed Southport.
At the end of the coast road you come to a roundabout, the Plough is on the right hand side of the roundabout, car park is round the back.
If anyone needs directions from the Ormskirk side of Southport, let me know.
See you Sunday

I have got the tickets sorted (£3 each), so we are all sorted now.
A SDDA glorious drubbing of the FM boys, followed a week later by the mighty Mancs finishing off Steve G' and his boys season... oh I love October.... (well for now anyway)

Depth is a little dependent on how much water has been pumped out today, but generally its 4 to 5 feet. Width - I got across to the far bank last week with a 16m pole. That said, fishing anywhere from middle to far bank is generally good.
there is usually a slight tow on the water caused by the pumping, as long as they have taken enough off today it should be ideal for Sunday.
Any other questions, let me know..

Im sorry to inform you all that Danny and I will not be attending Sunday. We will not be able to make it due to the builders having to work on Dannys house on the said day. Hope you all have a good days fishing and some good banter. They SDAA lads might have a chance of winning now. Sorry again guys, PS, I have made up some light rigs for the event also. I can allways use these next time. Bri

Thanks to all for turning up today, hope you had a good time. Really good to meet the guys from FM, look forward to doing it again soon. As has been previously mentioned in this thread, this was a social get together and not a match, so modesty prevents me from posting a report on the fishing ,, although I think its safe to say the bragging rights belong to SDDA

Some nice Pike and Tench, there are some pictures on the SDDA forum. Two of the bigger tench helped me with a new excercise program.. The 100 yard dash down the muddy bank!! Photos

thanks for a wonderful day Sdaa.i didn,t realise that the drain system was as extensive as it is.I will be getting a ticket for this wonderful water.the The number of pike in the systemand the quality of the tench in the systemwas a real eye opener. Well the pole sorted out the chaff.Excuses, well where do i start. Here goes due to a trough of dry Atlantic air that was causing high air pressure and Justin Toper who got his stars wrong due to the angle of the moon being misread due to refraction in the depleted ozone layer.the complete and abyssmal sub standard performance did not marr my enjoyment of a wonderful day in marvellous company,Thank you all for a memoral day.
