The SDAA club match (first of the Winter Series) was a bit frustrating after some good midweek weights on the Sluice.
Brian Woods kept the run of framing in every match this season going by winning with 8lb-odd of silver fish from Peg 14, all caught on squatt at 14.5m
Fred Simpson was second on Peg 2 (known Tench peg) with two Tench and a Perch for 6lb 10oz.
Third went to Cliff Arnold with 2lb 13oz on Peg 12
It was a blustery morning, with no clear pattern of where the fish were. No significant predator activity (which had been a major feature all week) and the Roach (which had shown in large numbers) were noticably absent.

Jammy Mathew came 2nd with 10lb+, winning weight was 12lb+. The wind was blowing from left to right, needless to say the winner was in the far right end peg and Mathew was next to him! I was on the left side the fishing was s***e. I got 6 bites all day, hooked 4 all lumps and only landed one which's a 5lb9oz tench (look much bigger picture will be post), I think I came 5th with that.

It's at Martin Hall Fishery, we fished the new lake which opened for 2 years. (the one shown in their web site is the old lake and should fish better) Actually that lake is formed by 2 seperate lakes, average width is 12M with 3-4 feet in the middle. I think the owner put same amount of fish in both lakes but still, having a match in 2 seperate lakes doesn't sound right to me. Mathew is the only asian bagging boy, he framed so often recently I only framed once in my life! btw I want to play fishsim 2! I heard somebody really addicted to it, set up bite alarm and leave the computer on while sleeping, like real carping!
