Hi folks
Has anyone ever taken part in the matches on Sat or Suns at either of these places?
If so, what sort of atmosphere prevails......ultra-competative or friendly?
As a newbie to fresh water fishing, what recommendations would you make for avoiding making a plonker out of myself?! Cheers

If you have never fished a match before,I would recommend you join a local club and have a go at club level first before you try and fish an open.
If your gonna have a go I wouldnt fish it blind, have a look at the previous weeks result and what methods worked, have a few practice sessions and if allowed go and watch a few times before, youll learn more watching than you will pleasure fishing.Follow the scales, when the match has finished and everybody has packed away watch the weight in,people will normally talk about how they caught, youll also see which areas produced best.
If you dont do any homework you might as well pay jour pools and go home....Good Luck.

Thanks Alan
I've fished a lot of sea matches before, but coarse is a different ballgame! Thanks for the advice.
Cheers

I fished with WSFers before and joined the first match of the Summer Leage at Flint. But then I put down my sea rods and just do coarse fishing, might pick up my sea rods for the whiting and cod at Nov.
