Decided to join the match at Sefton Park today with a couple of regulars.. And it was not too bad.. I manage to come in 2nd winning £15 My first winning I had about 5 tench and 1 crucian for a total weight of 14lb 14oz. And lost 2 tench as well.. I reckon the biggest tench I had was about 5lb to 6lb. The winner had 24lb with a cracking 13lb carp ( his first fish of the day) landing it on a grey hydro and 11lb worth of misc tench. But overall I reckon it was a good day though with about 20+ tench been landed between 10 anglers. And a couple been snapped off as well. Mathew

it's quite challenging mate.. cos at times when the fish are not biting we got to think on what is the best move next to do... Well I might do for the next one Mathew

Looks like youve caught the match fishing bug,one thing youll notice if you fish regular matchs is that you catchs will improve as you learn more from the other anglers, never be afraid to ask what they were using.Looks like you would have won that match if the other angler didnt have that bonus carp (fluke)so you must be on the right lines.Did anybody catch any of those monster Bream, ukfisher caught one spring last year just under 10lbs?

Yeah was thinking about it if the winner didn't get that carp I would have won first. Well that's fishing, you never know what's at the end of the line. Though no one had any monster bream last saturday. Mathew
