Picked Kevin up at quarter to 5 in the morning and headed our way to Bannisters!! Upon reaching the pond we wanted to fish the canal lake but then we notice some signs indicating that there was a match on.. so we moved over to the next pond just as your car enters bannisters..
My first chuck in saw me landing my first ever Goldfish I presume..
By then I was well made up and my 2nd chuck in saw me landing a 4lb common.. Thinking that it would be a good day's fishing we both had high hopes.. But from then on till 12pm, we were only catching crucians after crucians and small tench.. And we only realise from the owner at about half 9 that there wasn't even match on the canal lake but they always leave the signs there
So I had enough of the old lake and changed my peg to the canal lake.. fed a pot of feeder and saw me catching a skimmer.. lost one which took my grey hydro out which I reckon was a barbel.. Soon after Kevin join me over at the canal lake..
His first fish at the canal saw him landing a nice barbel which gave him a nice fight on his pole.
We were into barbels and skimmers quite regularly throughout the next 2 hrs.
Had some time to take some photos of the cute ducklings as well when they swam past my swim.
Just within the last 10mins, I manage to hook onto a carp right at the edge of the opp.bank Which put up a nice fight..
To finish off the session I took a nice picture of Kevin and his catches from the canal lake:)
Over all it was a good last 2 hrs session .. We definately got burned but I enjoyed every min. of it. Beats any day at work.
