Mathew and me arrived Lingmere at around 9:30am and we started our session at the match lake. COLD wind was blowing all over the match lake and the presentation was nightmare, I caught a nice carp there but bites were far too slow. Then we moved to the pleasure lake , we chose the pegs which facing the wind and fished to the margin. The weather turned better and the wind dropped a bit which brought us some good fishing time! We caught steadily a fish a chuck through out the rest of the session. Mathew landed one nice tench there! At the last hour of the session, I fed very heavily, full kinder cup after every fish but the more I fed, the more the small carps... Afterall it's a good day out with Mathew! we are planning to go old roan and a "carp mission" next week... PS. I used to buy LIDL sweet corn to eat and fishing because it's fxxking cheap, only 19P a big tin! But didn't have any success anywhere. Today I used the famous Jolly Green Giant, and that caught me lots of fish, even better than expanders! I am thinking if any chemicals in the LIDL sweetcorn that put the fish off?

Can I suggest a venue for your "carp mission" a few of my mates fish for carp and have been getting some really good results from Hurlston Hall in Ormskirk, catching a few fish(low doubles) every time they go.

Yeah Alan, but I always fished peg where the sun was on my right side.... now my right face is obviously darker than the left side... And thanks a lot for the suggestion mate, we will definitely check it out!

Wow.. so many post before I could even get Kevin's picture on the net.. Had a nice day to begin esp. with the on-site Bacon and egg toast. Kevin got into a nice carp the moment we went over to the pleasure lake. As for me I enjoyed myself and I manage to dedicate the last 1hr to try out a rod which had a screw in tip. Rigged it up at had a couple of bites of my swim. Whereas Kevin was heavily feeding his corn into one corner and pulling out fishes. So when he packed up I went over to his swim and manage to land 3 fish within 10mins. Very happy indeed to land a fish on a tip. Overall it was a nice day out hopefully the weather would become better as the weeks goes by. Mathew

some good fish there fellas!looks like a good day on the sweetcorn question,i fished blundels a few times over the winter where corn and pellet are the "in"baits,i used some cheap corn from netto and never had a touch on it,it was only when i got home and had a look at the tin and noticed nettos was packed in salted water and jolly green is packed in sweetned water not sure if this was the reason, but only use j/green now?
