Any strange or funny things happened when fishing?
One that sticks out in my mind was when I was about 12 and fishing in Shrewsbury on the Severn and some reeds to my right started moving vigorously. I started watching them then all of a sudden this 2ft high rat came out of the reeds towards me. I panicked ran out of the way kicking my maggots over as I went only to see my uncle in the next swim doubled up with laughter.
It turns out that the "Rat" was in fact something called a Coypu which looks just like a rat but is much larger, they used to be bred around there and some had escaped.

i doubt many woudn't of ran when there was a 2' rat was swimming towards them mate

me and danny were fishing lingmere when he decided to walk over to my peg. a sudden gust of wind and his brolly took of with his box hanging on like mary poppins. ;D

the funniest part was watching him on his hands and knees pulling his box out the lake.

he went home sulking ten minutes later.

when i finally stopped laughing and thought the day could not get any better i landed my pb carp of 18lb
