heard of some good conger and rays coming off perch rock (new brighton) in the last couple of days so me and a mate LOL decided to give them a go this evening we blew the cobwebs off the fishing gear and headed out with sandeels, lug worm, squid and mackeral, on such a big tide its a good old walk to the low water mark it had been fine weather wise all day but as we got there the wind picked up and turned south easterly this had the water pushing through at a fair old rate and even casting right up stream with 6oz grip leads it was very hard to get the leads to hold bottom there was quite a few fishing the beach but all we heard of was a single whiting down by the groyne on the left had side differnt baits and distances were tried to no avail till i mannaged to hook a small whiting , this went back out as bait on a pennel rig at slack water...but to no avail the weather had deteriorated much worse by now and we were being slowly sandblasted by the wind whipping up the sand and this mixed with the rain soon had us looking the worse for wear so we decided to call it a night and head to the pub for a pint all in all a bit disapointing on the fishing stakes especially in the hard conditions but at least i caught and lol blanked
