going Monday or Tuesday with a friend who is into the bivvy scene, he seems convinced that the Sturgeon will feed and he will catch a few. ;DIm not convinced and do not want to waste time sat behind a beefed up tip rod with hair rigged meat for six or seven hours. Anyone been lately as i would rather fish pole or tip for anything that swims. Any info on baits decent pegs etc would be much appreciated. Heard it is £6 a day as well

Not fished it mate but I have had a walk around it. The time I was there one guy was fishing Hot Dog sausages. He said he had cought a couple of Sturgeon on them.
Ugly looking fish them. I was in The Blue Planet at Ellsmere Port a couple of weeeks ago and they have these in a giant tank along with most course fish. Well woth a visit if you have the time.

thanks BC was planning a trip to blue planet one day next week (half term for kids). if i cant go fishing on mi day off i may as well do next best thing and take kids to something fish orientated. Youngest will love it, but daughter whos 10 may not appreciate being dragged out of bed in morning to look at fish. Been on the website and it looks good tbh. Will post results of Beacon when weve been

ive had a few sturgeon out of beacon, best bait is meat (just rip it off all ragged ) over a bed of hemp, ive caught them mainly down the opposite end to were you get onto the lake, a good peg is on the right hand bank(with the house to your back) is a small tree right at the edge of the water( just before the sunken boat), drop it in near the end of the tree, most fish seem to be close in
funny fish sturgeon, they come in real easy at first, then shoot off like they have a rocket up their arse when they get a glimpse of you

your not wrong there dave - those sturgeon seem to have a slow brain response ( just like neil bluenose ha ha ) they get hooked then after about 10 seconds realise then get off like a train !! didnt go there last year as was trying other new venues so i must give it a go this year ! usually fish the luncheon meat but i might give hot dogs a go this time

i caught one there in the last 5 mins of a match last year, had enough as id struggled the whole match due the lake resembling the north sea, just had my top section in front of me with a piece of corn, god i nearly s**t myself when it came up out of the water, got the rest of my sections on and landed it to win the match, weighed around 10lb, ive also been blue planet and spent the majority of my time there in the coarse section, weel worth a trip, although i had to be dragged away from the pond down the side as i was trying to work out if there were fish in there lol
