Which side of the bridge is that overhanging tree (as you approach the bridge before going over it, is it the Rufford side, or the Tarleton side?)
The reason it looks like a river is because before the lock was decommissioned, everything from there to Tarleton WAS a river - the Asland.
Those Bream are like nothing I have ever seen out of there as long as I've fished it - and that goes back thirty-odd years; well done Wokkie.

Yes,Alan, there were 2 others fishing about a couple hundred yards to my right(you could roughly see the pole on the first photo) As you said, the first 2 pegs are full of features to fish against :(The only down side of that place is full of eels, little perch and little roach if you fish baits like maggots, worms, caster Marky,I was on the left hand side before crossing the bridge(Tarleton).

They look like the pegs on the left of the bridge to me.Never fished them myself,Iv had plenty of Bream from the opposite side.
The rufford is well underfished, but I heard theres a lot more boat traffic than there used to be.

You're not wrong about eels - that's all we ever caught when we went down there - I'm glad to see it's picked up with the bream. I've had some good do's on the Rufford side (opposite where the cattle drink in the canal) with many a decent Tench, but never seen Bream to that size. I will be having a session there this week.
