Me and Danny arrived here about 9:30 this morning. I cupped in some bloodworm feeders and put a VDE strawberry jellete an the hook and fished pole around 4 meteres. First chuck and the float dipped which resulted in a Skimmer in the net. Next chuck and this Tench came in. Straight after the float dipped again only to be snapped after my black hydro bottomed out in about four seconds as the fish darted into the middle of the lake . I then started to hit a lot of crucians like this one I ended up with five Tench and about a dozen Crucians with a load of Skimmers and the odd Roach. The rain made the day a bit awkward but all in all I enjoyed myself and will return for one the the big lumps. Meanwhile, as I was hitting the Crucians Danny landed this moster after a good scrap. Danny looking for the 5pence he dropped in the lake.

I like that place, tidy enough, nice clean toilet, fish condition's sound :(and most of all, plenty doubles and sturgeons to keep the rod bending :(I usually just fish close in by the margine for the bigguns with big baits, big hooks,7-8lb(.18mm to .20mm) bottom on rod and reel I could magine Danny caught that sturgeon on the pole They are not fast swimming but powerful,if you cannot bully the fish into the net in the first 10-15 seconds, once they wake up,it will then take you ages to get them in. well done to you both :oMay be a good venue for your furture matches

May be a good venue for your furture matches I was thinking that myself mate. Do they book it out? Although I dont think it would be a good idea to put the Sturgeons in the net. I aslo heard the bailiff say the go to 34lb. Now that would be special to land one of them.

for the sturgeon, try prawn in the margins, tackle up on the heavy side though, i dont use the pole there, just an avon rod with 6lb line straight through, they done half fight.

good report Bri, seem like a good venue on feeder rod right? Yes Kev. Next time I will fish the tip. I realy want one of them Sturgeon and thats what I will be aiming for next time I go. The method feeder works well there also as I seen a guy with a few nice Koi. He says he always fishes the method when there.
