Yes it is day ticket! Downstream from Byley bridge in Middlewich. Tickets on the bank are about £6 I think. That is if the bailiff comes. I fished for free today! QUALITY!

The fish on the last pic looks bigger than 4lb 10oz, don't you think? As for the smile, I was passing wind at the time....

I love the dane but if its big Barbel you want get yourself to the bonsai tree stretch of the Ribble, day ticket can't do no wrong really just fish halibut pellet over hemp and pellet I've had them out to over 12lb.
If you fancy fishing properly try and find a pacey stretch and stick float for them on the ribble my dad had over 84lb in a session using nothing but caster and hemp on a 14s hook and 4lb bottom.

Do not target barbel in these weather conditions whether its the dane the ribble or a hole in the ground. If you fish for barbel seriously i dont need to explain why. So for any one who doesnt now barbel take a very long time to recover in these low water conditions because of a lack of oxygen in the water. They deserve better than to end up belly up floating down stream.

Yes I do give 2 f's. But I don't want to be dictated to about something I love doing! I take every care with all the fish I catch. I always get em back in the water asap and have sometimes spent 10 mins holding a brown trout until it had recovered enough to go.

Sorry but im with dodgy on this one. I don't see the problem as long as the proper precautions are taken. I was on the Dee this morning after chub but the well known barbel peg was already taken when I arrived and the lad was using a keepnet. WTF is all that about? The river is dangerously low, oxgen levels are non existant. There's no need for to keep the fish any longer than necessary. F*cking idiot! Its not the first time ive seen this happen on there unfortuately but the club secretary wont get his finger out to stop it. Anyway...rant over

I don't see nothing wrong with Dodgy's post it wasn't offensive. I can understand Smudgy's feelings on this too, as he says we all need to be careful but this " do not..." thing, is an order.

Yes. From the tickled trout up to bonsai is day ticket. Bonsai is open 9-5 because people keep pinching things. Monsters live here. Dont tell no one tho because the people on barbel fishing world will go mad if you fish THERE river. If you pm me when your going i will put you on a peg thats ok.

its actually the second turning on the left, the 1st turning is gregsons farm a day ticket from the petrol station at the tickle trout.this ticket allows you to fish from behind the hotel, under the motorway upto bonsai.£3 good fishing till dusk.bonsai is a good stretch but its a fiver 9-5,theres only about 6 swims but you will catch in day time.pellets good all over ribble but youll catch on maggot, thats all a mate of mine uses and he catches plenty.p.s the parking at bonsai and gregsons is good and safe but dont park on the carpark at the side of petrol station.
