I havn't been fishing this year so me and a couple of mates went to Green Lane up in Lydiate.
I was fishing on opposite to side to car park, I was fishing around 9m out with maggots and pellets. I was getting bites in patches and this seemed to be the same for my mates. Mostly small 1-2lb f1 carp and crucians, but had a mirror about 4lb. We all caught roughly the same except one of my mates had loads of little roach too. All crucians on pellet and the rest on maggot. It was a decent day but the weather wasn't the best. Lost a couple of bigger ones near the end.

i like green lane when its too windy to fish other places, you can usually find a sheltered spot

I find you get quite a bit of wind considering it's quite covered, I suppose the fact it's in the middle of farmers fields would explain that tho. As last week was just to blow the cobwebs away , this week will be no holds barred and I will give my mates a lesson in fishing.

I agree with Dave that it's a well sheltered venue. If it's still too windy to fish in greens lane, I think you should stay at home.
Mathew and me went there last week, the weather was bad with rain and wind. Then I switched to method feeder in the last hour, suprisingly I managed 5-6 nice carps.
