Had an early session in Greenbank today. As Mathew was doing so well with some brazem pellets, I fed some red brazem groundbait to kick start the swim. But the swim just dead, no any signal. Then I swtiched backk to my trusty 4mm pellet and fishmeal based groundbait. I caught tench crucian and roach straight away. But then the swim was full of the crazy roach non-stop nicking my bait. I fed 2 big balls of groundbait in to either scare / fill them up, I just wanted to advoid them! 5min after fishing on, and after a 2min fight it's on my hand. A nice tench. Mathew called me then he came over to take picture and weighed the fish.... only 6lb on the scale but honestly we think it should heavier than that as it's just a very basic spring type 50lb scale, which's not accurate for light weight. So I say it's a 6.5lb tench! I was quite happy the result today, 3 tench 2 crucian 1 skimmer and 10 roach, not very bad as the fishing was quite bad recent days. Next challenge, NEWSHAM PARK! (one tench caught on swimstim hooker, NOT A BITE ON SKINZ PELLET, all other fish caught on self pump expander - it's still the best I think which's light and soft.)
