i was going to have a chuck at newsham but one of the kids wasnt looking too good when i sent him off to school this morning and i was expecting a phone call to say come and get him so i decided to go to walton instead (suffering with my hangover might of had a little to do with the decision aswell)
i sat on the left hand pier and cupped in a bit of pellet (i used some 4mm G.O.T. pellets that were free on a mag and a couple of 6mm dynamite ones) and diced meat
a couple of lads were to my left and practicing for tonights match but they never had much, got my first bite after 10 minutes of feeding that resulted in a skimmer of about a pound, next fish was a proper bream of about 6 lb and this was the order of the day a few skimmers and the odd proper bream every chuck practically a couple of carp (best about 10lb) threw themselves on the hook to add a little variety
it went a little quiet later on when i was changing rigs after a rig was smashed by a carp and the bites after i forgot to feed and when the bites came back they were not as positive as beforeand i was getting the odd foul hooked fish to make matters worse, i thought it was because i had been feeding little and often with too much bait so i cut down to feeding 5 or 6 pellets and a little diced meat only and this helped stop the false bites
i easy had 60 or 70 lb of fish today but by the time i packed in there was nobody to get a pic of me with any of them so i had to take one down the keepnet
i was planning on going back tommorow but our jake looks rough when i picked him up from school so i might not be able to go
