After failing dismally in the match here last Sunday I went back here last night to have another go (and use up some leftover bait). I fished peg 49 and, chucking a method feeder out about 20 yards with hair-rigged corn on the hook, was quickly into carp between 2 & 4lb. I tried catmeat on the method too and that worked just as well, although I did have a couple of 0.16mm hooklengths break on me before swapping to 0.18! I didn't lose another fish after that and it made no difference to the number of bites. Whilst I was doing this I kept on trying the 13m pole line which I had fed heavily with catmeat and corn. I only had a couple of skimmers from this line until I ran out of method mix after 12 fish and had to concentrate on the pole. I added another 4 carp in the last 45 minutes from here, including a nice 6 pounder. I did start to feed really heavy with pellet using the catty in an attempt to switch them on. Again there were plenty of fish showing all around the lake and I was only charged £3.50 because I got there after 4pm

Its fishing really well at the moment,if your gonna try the method fish a peg on a point and cast into open water,I was pegged in a bay on Sunday opposite Matt and we both struggled on the method only catching a few fish. The match the day before was won with 135lbs on the method using mini boilies from peg 31. Cat meat is a great bait and will catch you loads of fish on the pole,I caught just under 25lbs of Bream and carp all on catmeat.
