We had another session today and decided to go fish the S-Bend as reccomand by Alan on the earlier post. By the time we set up and started fishing it was already 8.30am. The fishing was good the very minute we started.
First 2 chucks for kevin produced perch and then it happened right at the margin, his maver elastic was shooting out.. And he was telling me when fighting the fish.. " Matt, if this is an eel again, I guess I can break the most F*** word record again." But it was not meant to be.. a TENCH appeared at the end of his line. Soon he landed it and was an estimated 4lb tench..
By then I just managed to land a couple of small perch, and soon was into a small bream as well.. Had another chuck into my swim and was onto a nicer fish. Deep down I was hoping for a tench as it was taking the number 8 elastic for a ride.. But then it surfaced OMG was about a 4lb to 5lb bream... Played for awhile and when I tried to pull it back the hook came off!!
About then, Kevin was into a good fish as well.. and soon landed another tench!!
So in my hunt for a tench to balance the score sheet with Kevin, I tried the far bank at 13mtrs. The float dipped and I lift only to feel the weight of the fish, thinking it was small as the grey hydro didn't fly out at all I started to sway the fish away from the rushes. Then all hell broke loose and took me by surprise.. Hoping it was a tench I was, but soon I it broke the surface and exposed it bars.. The biggest Perch I've seen till date.
This one ain't going to get away and I landed it soon after. My personal best perch yet.
Abit more small bits and pieces appeared till about 1230pm we packed up and go for our lunch at MacDonalds. Overall a nice day out.. Oh and not to forget, Alan came down and we had a nice chat as well..
Here are the pictures of Kevin.
