Not much to report as the weather was too hot !!!! Anyway, we got here around 8ish and I started off on the waggler to the side of some lillypads as I could not be bothered holding a pole all day. Here is the swim I fished. I threw a few pellets in and was into skimmers and roach sraight away. This caried on for a while so I decided to try my margin swim where I had put some liquidised corn earlier. Same thing skimmers and roach. Although when I put on a piece of meat I was catching the odd crucian. The biggest fish of the day was a tench around the pound and a half mark. Though the fishing was not very good I must say that this place is beautifull. You can walk around in your bare feet if you want to as its so clean and well maintained. Later on I threw a few chum mixers to the lillys and the odd carp was coming up for them so I used a fifteen inch hooklengh on my pole without a float and just left the chum mixture floating into the lillys. I got to say this one of the most exciting ways to fish. You can see the lillys moveing as the carp close in on your bait, then a giant pair of lips go to suck it in. The problem was they were not taking it properly so I didnt catch any I will be deffo trying this method again though. So, I will sign off with a few pics of the lake and a picture of this thing tha attacked me on the way out.......... Micks swim Dont know what this is but didnt like the sound it made when it went for me

Good report mate, how many lakes are there and which lake were you on? Alright Alan, There are two lakes. One is very small with overhead power lines and you cant use a pole on this one for obvious reasons. The other one is the one I fished. It has about twenty pegs and really is nice. Its places like this that you dont mind havng a s*** day as the suroundings and wildlife keep you happy. It does hold some very big carp and it was a pitty they never wanted to play. Nevermind though, Ill be back. ;D

its in the village of mawdesley, just past parbold, i head up to rufford on the A59 then turn right onto station road (you will pass a small fishery as you cross the railway line that meant to be quite good), go over the canal and the river (douglas) and at the t junction turn right onto meadow lane, turn 1st left onto back moor lane and follow this to you get to a cross road, turn left here (onto new street) this turns into hall lane as it goes through the village and as it does a dog leg into blue stone lane, you have to look for a bungalow on the right hand side with a 5 bar gate and a gravel drive, this is the fishery, there is no signs up though there is a notice on the gate that says ,,,no admitance before 6.30 am hope this helps mate, have a look on multimap, if you go right down and use arial view you can see the fishery www.multimap.com/map/photo.cgi?client=public&X=350500&Y=415250&scale=5000&width=700&height=400&gride=350500&gridn=415250&lang=&db=&coordsys=gb

That bird is a chicken duck hybrid That bird should taste nice then, Hmmmm maybe next time ill bring me gun. Anyway Kev, the lillys from me were about seven metres. From mick about five. There is also an island in the middle that you can hit with a feeder. You can only fish on three sides as one end you cannot get to. This is now all overgrown on the bank but the water itself is great with lots of thick reeds. You can see the carp on top as they feel safe here. If you get one of the pegs at the side of this you have a lot of area to yourself and its a very fishy spot. Great fishery. ;D ;D ;D

I went there about six weeks ago on a sunday and all the pegs were taken. The owner said you have to get there at 6am on a weekend, but week days are quiet.

i went 2 weeks ago and cleaned up dangling hair rigged dog biscuits.
I to at 1st had many takes then rejections from the carp but found out they only took it when it was actually resting against a lilly pad. So i tied a leave to my line just 3 inches above my hook and i couldnt fail, was made up with my crafty thinking.
got to agree bluestones is my favourite fishery with golden tench amongst the spieces it posesses. No kids allowed either which is good on the busy summer holidays
