Sandy and me arrived Lingmere at 2:30pm, we met Ste at the HOT peg and I just set up right of him as his mate was packing up. NICE TO MEET YOU STE.
3 swims ,6M out at 10 and 12 o'clock, and a margin swimnext to lily pads on my right. BOMBbombBOMBbomb..... 6 VDE supercarp fishmeal groundbait balls were thrown in.
First cast made at 3pm, 12 oclock swim, 6mm green swimstim hooked put in, 1..2..3.. FLOAT GONE... I striked firmly and hooked to a nice fish. It surrendered after 3min a ghostie not huge but a good start.
Then I was into some small carps and tench.
3:50pm - managed a good condition mirror
As the swims were solid with fish, I passed the pole to Sandy. She still not used to pole so missed a few good bites, but she's improved a lot and managed some small carps and skimmer, I think next time she'll get something big!
Alright I fished again after an hr, first cast and hooked to something heavy, but swimming VERY SLOWLY!
We had a good laugh and it shows it's face on the water. A Carp - Koi - Goldfish hybrid with big eyes and belly, that's why it swam so slowly
After 6min, I managed my PB roach, still small but I am happy.
Then another carp..
I have fed the margin swim with maggots( given by a nice angler when he left) and pellets for 2.5hrs, and I saw the WAVES. I told Sandy there must be a big tench! Bait put in, float gone after 3 sec!!! It dashed in the lilys in no time, hook pulled.... but the rig was fine, as I was using a strong 0.16 line it just cut the lily pads.
Put another hooker in, this time 1 feet away the lily pads. Float gone and I stiked and dragged the fish away from snags. It gave a very good fight on my pink bungee 14-16.
My best tench of the day.
I used up groundbait and don't wanna mix more, I just few the swims with 3mm pellets. That attracted tons of small fish in. Less feed few bites, more feed more small fish. So I just packed up at around 7.
I am well chuffed today, caught a few nice fish and they all look so different! Managed over 40lb net in 4 hrs, my best session in Lingmere.
Good decision to fish rather than watch the world cup!
by the way, one more bonus photo for you from Sandy..
