i went to the Leeds liverpool canal today wehn to the same peg that i fished in the match and got there about 9 i set up a float rod and a Ledger with a boillie ( there has been alot of Talk about big carp in the canal) i had a perch Straight away on the float and then My Baitrunner Sounded like it was attached to a Car! but when i strook the hook came out it sounded like a Really big fish. then the rin started to come down and i had no Brolly! so we braved it for about 2hours in the rain.. then Left off for home. on the way back to the Bridge the rain stopped and i baited a swim up with boillies and i think i will bait the swim up for a few days then fish it Next weekend

cyp how many barges went past good question mate, on the day of the match not a single boat went through and the fishing was hard, maybe a few barges to stir things up and persuade the fish to feed??

that is so strange i have been down there for years and never ever seen any barges. but that would explain the colour in the water. and would explain the lack of weed in there i know it has a bit but that is nothing to what it is usualy.

Lastg year they put some "Micro Organisms"in that are meant to eat the Weeds, i dont see why they dont chuck a few Grass carp in there...
