thought i might as well pull my finger out and write a report
anyway went to walton park today but instead of fishing the little lake for the carp i decided to jump on the left hand side pier on the big lake i used the left over bait from yesterdays trip so i was using meat/pellet/catfood and tuna
put a big cup of feed pellets out at 9m and sat over it, i was alternating between pellet and punched meat and nothing much was getting caught, just a couple of skimmers about 3/4 pound that gave me very timid bites, i decided to add some tinned tuna and straight away the bites were much firmer and more frequent, i just fluffed it up and added it via a pole pot with the pellets, it gives off a nice oily trickle of bait through the water, i was getting a fish a chuck mainly the skimmers but with the odd proper bream to about 5lb thrown in now and again
i only had half a tin of tuna left over from yesterday and as soon as it ran out so did the bites deteriorate i was getting the odd fish but nothing like when i was feeding tuna(the big party of school kids throwing bread in for the ducks right next to me didnt help), try it next time your out, but make sure you get the sunfloweer veriety rather than in the brine

Good one dave, speci lads have been using tuna for years never tried it myself but will now.Have lots of people been fishing the big lake, whats happening with the new club that supposed to be taking it over? theres a few more fishing the big lake, lots of the fish from the little lake have mysteriously gone into the big lake ( there must be a secret underwater tunnel ) talking to some of the lads there has been some good bream coming out and big roach ( to a pound and very clean), saw a couple of carp come out to a rod on pod lad fishing up to the island with boilies as for the club, i still think its in the running, they are holding matches on a thursday evening from next week, apparently they are looking for funding to do it up and put proper pegs along it and a club house, i think i overheard a security guy talking to one of the carpers about banning night fishing or something if they cant get funding for the pegs i hope they at least put the fence back a little bit, i cant get on with my milo box unless i fish off the piers or on the cafe
