Went home from work sick yesterday, so I thought I'd take a stroll over to the golfy, walked to the big lake and look round wearing the the Polarised glasses seen two carp milling around on the surface looked to be around 20lb mark.
So I practically ran home grabed a carp rod, few chum mixers, Landing net, bait drill and needle, and forceps then headed of to do battle with the golf course yet again.
Gets there sets up no frills no messing, Just a size 8 hook and two chum mixers hair-rigged. I had to locate the fish again then which proved to be a little difficult considering the s*** golfers that play at bootle.
Away a gap in the golfers allowed me to once again stalk my prey, flicks out the chum mixers, I spooked the fish put them too close. I was gutted you don't get too many chances with these wily old carp.
Anyway waits ten minutes fish came back, Laughin I thought happy days another bite of the cherry. once again I flicked the dog biscuits out using a centrepin cast peel of a load of line grab it at the second eye take up the slack and use a sideways cast.
Spot on, landed about a foot in front of the biggest of the two carp, all the time watching the fish, so here I am crouching down right on the fairway watching this big carp circling round my bait then out of nowhere the smaller of the two took the chum mixers with that sucking sound that doesn't involve a woman but still gets every angler going.
Hooked and landed 17lb have a photo on my phone, I'll post it as soon as my Internet is back up and running at home.
