After a disappointing match on the Sunday were I woz annoyed at sitting and watching my float,,,well float,I decided to go and see if the cut could shine any brighter that these s***e puddles that are so popular. I decided to set up behind the B&Q on the end of the rushes.I only took my pole, net's and a small box with my rigs and other essentials. I started down the track feeding maggot and over the back I fed caster over groundbait and it woz basically a bite a chuck with roach, perch and rudd and had three perch to 12oz each, some lovely big dog roach and plenty of bites, it was that good that my girlfriend even had a go for an hour and caught every cast. Was seen off by a good fish and alot of colour in the water so I think the bream will have a go.I would highly people to give it a bash. Nice one Andy a good first report,I used to fish there a lot about 15 years ago but you never see anybody on there now. Iv had some good bags of Bream off the S bend around this time of year, best to pre bait first because it never gets fished, The best ever catch of roach Iv ever had came from behind the Blue Anchor a few years ago fishing hemp over the pads ended up with about 20lb.

dog roach mate real roach with the dark shade to them, not like what you would pull out of a puddle.

If you want BIG rudd mate go to Carr Side Farm and fish the road side one, Take about 2 and half pints of caster and fish on the drop mate. I've easy took over 40lb - 50lb of rudd in 3 hrs off there

ill have a go of that mate. so my story continues i decided to have another go with the weather being so dam good for a change. it was slower than normal but still bites. pulling in a good stamp of roach around 6-8oz with the odd bonus fish around 12oz. alot more silver fish this week the action took a knock, while i was pulling in a small perch the elastic was tested as a small pike heard the dinner bell ring. i battled it but it let go as soon as it seen the net . the colour seems to be slowly fading away but id say that is better as the hemp would batter it. i am going throught the week so ill post a new report and hopefully have some pics tight-lines andy
