after blanking at mere lane we shot over to banisters, we found a couple of swims on the snake lake that gave us some shelter from the wind.....what a difference it felt like a differnt country but you could see were we were fishing from our swims
both decided on the pole as it is 10m across to the far side and for best results you need to be right up close to the vegitation to get the best from your swim.
we were both soon into carp, the best was only about 4lb but they give you a decent fight, we were both catching fish nearly every chuck on pellet/meat and corn all doing the damage a quick rotation of baits and fishing the near side swims stop the fish getting spooked
we decided on a bit of a species hunt so fed the near side swims with maggot and saw what we could get apart from carp, ended up catching tench, barbel, perch, roach, rudd and our best mate the gudgeon
we both enjoyed the fishing but the place is getting to be a right shithole, mounds of dumped earth everywere, wrecked cars, building materials everywere, spoils your day looking out at all that s***e
