After a blanking session 2 days ago at GreenBank park, I decided then to make use of my only off day during the week to go fishing today.
Initially I was planning to go either Green Lane Park or Ling Mere with Kevin. But Kevin pulled out the night before as he had a group meeting to attend and I ended up driving up to Cheshire Fishery with another angler I met via Bob's Tackle shop by my place.
I arrived at the fishery at about 10am with cold winds blowing unto my face.. "freaking hell" I thought to myself that I would be blanking here as usual with this weather.
Paid the owner the £5. And walked to the last pool which had some coverage from the wind.. I manage to get a glimpse of someone fly fishing there as well.. (might consider going this saturday).
Set up my Gear, mixed my maggots with scopex and maize.. fed a few.. plump the depth.. Yada yada yada.. and away I was..
Knocks after knocks I had miss and was getting frustrated. I then cupped half a kinder of liquidised bread and some maggots. And quite instantly it worked wonders.
A nice small carp was landed on the size 6 elastic..
Hadn't had a fish on pole for sure a long time.. Boy was it fun ..
And soon it was roach after roach ..
Then I noticed from the corner of my eye.. that a little nice plump robin was secretly stealing some maggots off my box.
The action continued for about 3hrs and I had to pack up to go home as the angler which I fellow his car to get to the fishery wanted to go and not wanting to get lost later on the way back I packed up as well..
Last chucked in and it produced for me a small roach/skimmer hybrid I think.. Looks like a cross of both species..
Had a fun day out though abit short.. manage to land about 20+ roach, 2 small skimmers and 1 small carp..
Cheers.
