been today my mate had 4 sturgeon and a carp Sturgeon all around 7lb carp around 6lb. Fished pegs either side of what locals call the sturgeon bush. I got bored and set up pole and caught a good few roach on maggott. I tell you im not cut out for that buzzer fishing i need to be busy all the time. But credit to lad he knows his stuff and got what he went for. Meat hair rigged and meat and hemp drip fed over the top was his method. You only have to fish a max of 2 rod lengths out as it is deep. (approx 10 ft ) but this end is known as the deepest part of lake Another angler came and informed us that he had had a few out the other week on prawns, again from the swim on the bush. The bush is almost at the bottom corner of the lake on the side you come on. Will try again for a sturgeon myself when it is a bit warmer and i have more confidence in sitting on tip rod just waiting for a bite.

im the same, ive got the rods/pod alarms and all that but i think i used it 2 or 3 times last year, id rather be doing something to catch than just waiting for a fish to come along and hook itself
last time i was at beacon there was a fella there with one of those fish finders, it was great ( but very frustrating) watching all these big fish pass at our feet, you coudnt see them physically as as you say its deep, but they were there on the screen
