fished today 0930 - 1300 bit wet and windy but not a problem when fishing tip. Had 6 carp 5 x pasties 2lb ish and a lump of about 8lb. Hair rigged corn on a small 18s hook got the bites as i was struggling with liners and plucks on normal hooking method. Bayliff came and informed me that the match men where using the hair with small hooks to good effect. Set this up and got a few.He also says that the best way to fish it is to cast a bomb around looking for liners to find the fish, then fish with the bomb only and no feed. I used a tiny feeder though with a few pellets and a bit of corn in as i thought the fish may want a bit of something as there was only 4 of us on the lake. Fished peg 24 casting to aerator near island.

Mossy lea Rd Wrightington. I think it is junction 27 from M6 follow sign for parbold as you go around the big roundabout. as soon as you come off roundabout there is a big petrol station on your right , turn right here this is mossy lea rd follow for about 3 mile fishery is sign posted on the left. £5 a day or £3 concessions. There is another lake on site that seems popular with the specimen lads dont know much about it but it is a lot more sheltered than the top match lake, as it is in a bit of a recess and has several large trees that both give shelter and provide fishing features.

No mate this place does not get half as much angling pressure on it , but does have matches on top lake at weekends. Even in summer you will not see more than a dozen or so anglers on the bank during the week.

had a walk round it today after we fished at mawdesley, it was a bit bleak and blowy, see he is digging 2 new canal lakes, though owing to bad weather only one will get finished he thinks he will leave the other one till later in the year

gudgeon basher - if your gonna fish charity farm then i would suggest lake 1 or lake 2 they are definitley the best out of the four lakes there , they are stuffed with big carp , tench , bream and nice roach ( little tip - hookbait prawns ) !!!
