A last min group outing with a couple of mates ended us up at Six Fields which is somewhere in Southport. Location wise all I can remember it's somewhere near the pleasure lakes I think. We intended to go to GreenLane but due to a match on there we divert to the said location. The fishing was good I would have to say, I miss loads and landed 20+ F1s and commons. A friend of mine hook onto a huge one that snap his rig off and judging frm the swirl when the fish surface I'm pretty sure it was well over the doubles figures. I was on the pellet at about 5mtrs out and closed in I was on the double pinkies. Fishes were been landed on the margins as well Some pictures of the catches. The biggest one for me today. Not too bad I reckon for a days out and 4hrs of fishing. Mathew

Sorry dave, I think your muddled up with somewhere else Six Fields is just one small lake its behind Bannisters but is hard to find ,head out of Liverpool on the A59 throught Burscough, go throught the mini roundabout and over the railway turn left and follow the sighs for Martin Mere. Carry on past Martin Mere and Windmill farm, just before you get to Sephton Farm theres a converted barn on your right turn left up the track and over the drain follow the track to the right and drive straight for about 1/2 miles, youll come to a farm house on your right with a white fence turn right past the farm and over the drain again the lake is behind the hill on your right.I believe you can get to it from Banister Farm but its even harder! The lakes only small and not much to look at as it was only opened last year, weve fished it all winter and caught well, its sheltered with a hill all the way round and is mainly stocked with f1 carp I believe their only about 30 decent match sized carp in there, its a bite a chuck in the summer with 30lb winning club matchs. The weather was right, wind conditions looked sound and we were all set and ready for today's trip. But today's fishing was totally mad and we didn't expect anything like this to happen at all. We arrived at Six fields at about 815am and we were on the water by 830am. My form of attack was groundbait mixed with liquidised sweetcorn and to introduce it in a slow and steady form along with a pinch of feeder pellets. Fishing with either sweetcorn or pellets. Marked my 2 swims and we were on our way, first chuck in and a f1 carp appeared. What a way to start off the day, but we never knew what was going to hit us, after that one fish my swim went quiet for awhile and Kevin was already catching his 6th fish within the first 10mins. And was exclaiming in his exact words "There are thousands of fish in my swim.. hehe!!". The action went throughout the day and my swim started to kick into 5th gear, it was almost a bite and fish in every 2 mins.. It was the first time we ever had encounter this type of fishing. Madness But we loved every moment of it. Though all were F1's there were slightly below 1lb, but the numbers of it proved too much and fun to handled. Kevin had a blast today and was well made up. I finally had a chance to finish my photography project on fishing as well.. taking a break and shooting photographs of Kevin fishing. An estimated 150+ of carp was been landed per person! I honestly don't know how to write this report as it's to me almost beyond description. So I guess I would let the pictures of the day speak for itself As the angler gears up for the battle.. he does not know what lies ahead of him. He waits patiently for the unforeseen enermy to trespass his land... The battle commences and the angler has won.. The unfortunate victim. As he tries for his very last attempt at freedom... The battle within the Angler and Fish was decided. A para. view of the pond. Fishing Buddies..!!! Hope you guys liked it. Cheers. Mathew

Landed 300ish fish between us, no wind, warm weather, just no complaints at all today! My tactics was different from Mathew, I used 4mm expanders from beginning and switched to 6mm one. Soaked green swimstim feed pellet was used to hold the fish. Mathew and my tactis both scored well. So I'd say you can fish whatever you like, don't need any tips there. Mathew's 70th fish at noon (still 4 more hrs to go! ) Strong little fighter Features you can try out.

Sunday 2nd April 206
Got here around eight thirty. Decided what peg i was going to fish, put box down............heavens opened.
Man, it was like this all day long. Fishing was ok though. I started off cupping i half a dozen expanders and had a fish first chuck. A small carp, then another and another. This was the trend for throughout the day.
After a cuople of hours like this i decided to throw in a couple of balls of groundbait to see if i could temp the bigger fish to respond. No joy. The place is jam packed with F1's.
At the moment it does not matter how or what you fish with here as the the are taking anything you offer them.
If you are a bit rusty at the moment i suggest you give this place a try as you are sure to catch a fair few to bring your confidence back up.
Me and Mick ended up with about 50/60 small carp each.
Would habe been a better day if it was not pissing down.
No photos today as everthing was soaked.
Cheers

Alright Kev We fished facing the island. The bigger one of the two. Pity about the rain as I think I could have had a lot more if it was a bit dryer. Nevermind, I will be back for some of the better fish when it warms up a bit. Its a pity he does not dig out some better pegs as the banks are a bit to high.

let me start off by telling you this fishery is a hard one to find. it took me over thirty minutes to find and thats from martin mere.the directions above talk about a white fence, theres no white fence within a three mile radius and as for a signs for the fishery none at all, even the local farmers had no idea. after asking a few people we finally arrived. i will now give clear directions to avoid any more timewasting, after you have passed martin mere and the animal farm you will see the converted barn on your right, turn left here, carry on ahead and go over the sluice, turn right, follow the track and look out for a farm on your right,it has a new fence and green gates,go through the gates and carry on past the farm buildings, over the sluice again and the car park is then on your right. as for the fishing we started about eleven o'clock, there was a strong wind blowing so went for the sheltered area.fished the pole at six and eight meters feeding 3mm soaked and 4/6mm expander on the hook.caught fish from the off mainly f1s,with the odd bigger crui.had to keep the feed going in and fed a lot to keep them in my peg.ended up with over seventy fish which could have been a lot more if id had a lighter elastic,i was using white hyrdo set very slack and must have bumped over thirty fish.a 4/5 elastic would be perfect an enjoyable day dusting off the cobwebs, wake up Mr Sunshine.
