I came across these pictures the other nite and thought they might be of intrest,the two fish were caught on the Leeds Liverpool canal at Hall Rd,Maghull a good few years ago (about 5)on caster. I was very lucky that the anglers next to me took my pictures and posted them to me. I actually hooked half a dozen fish that day but only managed to land two,I cant remember there exact weights but I remember they were about 13lbs.The fish look very similar but you can tell there different fish by the scale patterns. And just to prove that there are a few fish on the bends at the Old Roan heres a few bream I caught one evening.

It seem the Maghull strech fish quite well. How to get license to fish there Andy?

The fishing is controlled by LDAA and you can get the card form local tackle shops,but they havent printed any this year so its free.

fair play to you alan,cracking carp! ive seen them like that in the bridgewater,but never hooked one let alone landed one, so there are fish at the old roan!!!!!!!!!! you did put em back,................didnt you

ive a mate who has had a 20 off the canal when not targeting them, take a walk down the canal at maghull , behind the shops there are a few carp there that are HUGE when its hot they just bask in the sun
