Hey Daveb. How did yoy get on with your sidewinder at the match? Are they any good? dunno bri !,set the rod up the day before for the method, last minute as usual , set up at rosemary no RODREST!!! struggled to hold the rod and fill the feeder, next problem, is my medium feeder up to it? NO! first cast managed to feed my 10m pole line looking back should have set up cage feeder but ,well you know what its like! stuck to the pole all match, soon as i get to try it i'll post a report, first impression- seems very sensitive, well made and should do the job?

well i never had a bite on it, but im surprised really i had a lot of faith that it was going to produce if i kept the bait going in...probably why i finished so far down, by the time i went on the feeder /pole it was game over i can see it working at any commercial with a high stock of carp, the idea is to fish shallow, keep casting into the same place and fire pellets over the top, its very buoyant so the fish hook themselves thats the theory anyway...pity the fish at rosemary woods havent read the book dave how deep were you fishing?

Can you put the sidewinder on after you have threaded your rod? i was fishing the tip on sunday and at one point it got a bit windy and my tip was blowing around to much. i could have done with one of them then.

you can put it on or take it off without breaking down ! the boby clips on to the rod and the eye is called a pigs tail (i think?) takes a minute or two to get youe head round it but its easy once you figure it ;D

bri i use a side winder all the time if the wind is bad the further up to the top of the rod is better it takes a while to get it spot on and when you put it on make sure you have the clip in between the eyes
