at 6 m out he may only have a couple of inches of water 7M out is 2.5 feet mate and I didn't bother to fish that far, I was fishing with my top kit at 1 feet of water. If the water level continue to drop, it might even better that we are sitting closer to the bottom of the lake, and the fish will be more concentrate Don't put a platform Dave, you might hit by the lead from people who don't have platform sitting behind you. One thing Mathew and me worry is the big lake will be closed and we are fishing the top lake.. where we never fished.

We've booked the big lake mate, just the water level is dropping at a very high rate, nearly a foot / week I just worry if that lake will be close.

Just checked the five day forcast and there is some rain due, might not make a differance to the current water levels but might stop them pumping out more.

It is a bit worrying, Maybe we could have a weigh in every hour so the fish wont be in the nets for too long.

as you can see the exposed bottom of the lake is very flat anyway, there is no shelves close in! so even if the water level rise back there will be no help at all, only the side with jetty pegs got deeper water close in.

Was having a chat with some of my friend who goes to the open matches there. According to them most of the time they are peg all around the lake. And that the keepnet would be half of the time above the water!!!

true but if every1 got on the jettys should all be able to get the nets in Ryan if all were to go on the jettys, none would be able to get any nets in at all!! Last week when Kevin and myself were there, water was nowhere near some of the platforms at all mate. I'll be heading down this coming tuesday with Kev. And I'll take some pictures of the place at the moment. I reckon if we are fishing in the big lake, we would have to sit around the sandbanks. Mathew

I fished the open at Rosemary Wood today and there was a club match on Moss Lake (the one we have booked). I think it was West Point from Formby. They finished same time as us so ukfisher & me watched their weigh-in. The water is very low now but it was still won with 30-odd pound with a few 20lb weights so the fishing doesn't seem to be too badly affected. Not sure how pole anglers will get on though.
By the way the open on Island Pool was won with 40lb, 38lb second (me) and 28lb third.

well in Matt82 you are just in a good form, bet you'll win our coming match again. I am happy that the water level is that low, that means my short pole is closer to the deeper water and the fish are more packed. You guys will see me just using my top kit and fish the 1 foot water anyway. Just hope there won't be fish kill. OH! just reckon I am the only Senior member here, is that mean I am old?
