This may be one for the future, but would any of the current members be interested in organizing matches between ourselves? Not that i have spoken to any of you yet, but hope to tonight. I'm quite fortunate that i have internet access in work.

Hi Rafa Welcome aboard mate. Although I'm mainly a pleasure angler and not very competitive I would be willing to participate in a match or two in the summer months. Once we get some regular posters on here we can take it from there. I am hoping for about 20 to 30 regular guys posting on here to keep this board up and running so time will tell eh. Anyway stick with us and lets see what happens as this board is still in its infancy and fingers crossed it will take off given time. ;D Spread the word so we can all reap the rewards. Cheers BC

Hi guys, I'd be up for something alpong the lines of a bit of fishing followed by a few pints all under the guise of a 'match'. Any particular ideas as to where? Summer is probably best, what with it likely to not be freezing.

The question now then is: where? Since the members seem to be either in liverpool or manchester (or in between), somewhere in between might be best to get to. Of course, where we go, will be determined on how many want to go.
Any ideas?

I think we need a least ten people for it to be worthwhile. As we only have about five regular posters in here at the moment we have a bit to go So come on, get your mates invovled.

Sounds like a good place: I'd be up for ti. As for numbers, we could ask on Maggot Drowner (I got to this forum from there). if this is the caswe, we may have to limit numbers though or something: it all depends on how popular it is. I've notice a maggot drowner's north west match; but that was up in the top of lancaster: we could bill this as the Southern Pansies version of the North West match

I'll have a go if it's got 20lb+ carp in it I fished a match on long Island at hampton spring last year, I had carp to 12lb, I hooked something and had no chance of stopping it, so i take it there are 15lb+ fish in there. Another one is Baden Hall, but its can be a bit patchy

i came second in the nw mds match at borwick and have only missed one due to me being at a meeting in ireland.the second was a fluke as im crap normally but it was fished in the same spirit as the rest, have a laugh, take the mickey and if we catch a few even better. They are at whitmore near kirkham on the 23rd of april and ill be there so if anybodys in the area come and say hello. unfortunately its full as its on a small lake which only holds 17 but keep your eye out for the next one,it will probably be at borwick again which is a nice water.
when this site picks up with enough regular posters give it a whirl, its the best way to meet forum members.

Anybody willing to organise these matches? I really wouldnt know where to start as my match fishing experiance is nil

Post by rafalution on Apr 9, 2006 18:32:38 GMT
I'll organise it as far as running the match is concerned, got peg numbers, a weigh sling and electronic scales there, so that not a problem.
Option 1 All we will do is charge the dayticket money and say £3 a head extra and split the prize money over 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th.
or
Option 2 All we will do is charge the dayticket money and say £3 a head extra and throw it in a pot for a pint afterwards.

Ok then, i have no problem with Rafa being the gaffa. Cheers Mate Maybe put up a few dates so we all have a chance of being able to fish the same day. Pick a venue and lets get this show on the road......... P.s, option 1 seems good to me. ;D

Well I'll just go with the concensus, so if people wanna post a date and a venue (and I'll tell you if I fancy it ) and we'll have a discussion and probably go with the majority. P.S. My arl fella will probably be coming out aswell he's my lift.
