From Switch Island:
Take the A59 to Maghull,
Turn left onto Westway at the crossroads traffic lights, through the pedestrian lights and turn right onto Liverpool Road North at the next set of lights.
After 3.5 miles, turn left at the Kings Arms pub (bottom of canal bridge @ Haskayne)
Follow road round to the left (into the village) and just after the newsagents turn right into Riding Lane.
Follow Riding Lane out of the village until you see the Fishery sign on the right. Turn off the road and follow the track. You will first see the Island Pool - continue down the track and you will see the Moss Lake in front of you, with the cabin on the right.

Just wondering if I stay on the A59.. Would I have to pass Old Roan to reach Maghull? And lets say from Old Roan how much further away would it be? Say 5 to 10mins drive?

Mathew Stay on the A59 - go past Asda and follow the signs for Ormskirk at Switch Island. Do not go up Dunnings Bridge Road, or down the M58 or M57. Once on the other side of Switch Island, you go through the lights at The Alt pub, through another set at Maghull Civic Centre, over a bridge (don't go left at the Tile Centre) then you come to another set of lights at Maghull. Turn left here, then follow the signs for Southport. The rest of the directions are as above - from the Old Roan (accounting for traffic lights) it should take you no more than 15 minutes.
